Mushaboom (Postal Service Remix) by Feist

May 28, 2008 - 11:47 pm No Comments

I was listening to this song pretty much all day. This and another Feist song entitled “One Evening” (VV Remix). They can be found on the Open Season CD, which is a remix CD. The original are good but I like the remixes better, they add a little more pop. I wanted to feature the VV remix of One Evening but could only find the original on YouTube. So here’s the Postal Service remix of Mushaboom. Feist of course is probably best known for 1234 which was the song for the new third generation iPod Nano ad. So the reason why I discovered this song was that a coworker was going on vacation and she has a ridicously long flight of 20 hours so she needed some songs to keep her occupied. Her 2g iPod Nano holds 4gb and she used 500mb. So  like the Pandora music service, she told me some of her favorite artists (India.Arie) and I filled her iPod up with songs that I thought she would like. I got the feeling she was into independent women singers. So hence, I rediscovered Feist. I remember Feist because Banana Republic would always play her songs.

Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order

Everybody’s probably heard of this song. It’s a classic. I heard it again over the weekend at a wedding. The DJ was spinning it. Always great for the dance floor. I remember hearing it a dance when I was a freshman in college. The DJ spun the song so that the crowd could sing a long to the chorus. Great song. The video is funky too. I have the videography on DVD and when I first saw it, I was like, Oh hey an Asian girl. Haha. Hilarious.

Drive by The Cars

Happy Memorial Day everybody. I had a fantastic weekend. Now back to down to business. 8 years ago I bought my car on Memorial Day weekend, so this is a dedication to my car. It’s a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe, emerald pearl green. I have been through a lot with this car and I’m so happy to say that I’m planning to keep driving it for at least another 8 years. Sorry Lis, but I can’t give you my car. I know there are millions of Civics out there but this one’s special because it’s mine. Now I know this song is a sad song, but I like chilling out to sad love songs.

Falling Down by Scarlett Johansson

So I copped this album yesterday and I was like, whoa Scarlett Johansson has a music CD? No way! Damn she is so hot. I like this song. Upon research I found out it was written by some guy named Tom Waits from back in the day. I listened to his original version. Geez his voice sucks. Scarlett sounds so much better. But still Tom should stick to song writing. Good lyrics.

A Praise Chorus by Jimmy Eat World

There comes a time in life where you take a look at your life and realize it’s not where you want to be or even who you want to be. About 3 years ago I made the discovery and took action. I’m still not there yet, but I’m climbing higher and higher to be the kind of person I want to be.

Are you gonna live your life wonderin’ standing in the back lookin’ around?

Are you gonna waste your time thinkin’ how you’ve grown up or how you missed out?
